The legend of Haldron?

As I have posted before the Haldron Collider could have a more profound effect on the planet, and indeed the universe than we could know. Today's article http://www.sciam.com/podcast/episode.cfm?id=52F8BDE7-0723-18C9-4DD2BE500A89CEED reminds me of the opening scene in the movie "I am legend" where a cure for cancer has been found but turns out to destroy the human race. Hmm, strangely similar.
